Anita

Anita is a petite, soulful girl of about 2–3 years old, weighing around 5 kg (11 lbs) (she arrived a bit underweight and happily filled out with good care).

She has a beautiful balance of energy — medium to high when it’s time to play or explore, and perfectly content to relax and chill when her surroundings are calm.

She is extremely affectionate and forms a deep bond with her person,  the kind of dog who wants to be close and connected.

Anita is also highly intelligent, with excellent recall, walks very nicely on leash, and is exceptional off leash. She is crate trained and comfortable spending the entire night on her own.

Earlier in her journey, Anita suffered a leg injury, and amputation was once considered. We are incredibly grateful we didn’t go that route — her leg healed beautifully. Today, Anita runs, plays, and jumps without limitations, living a full and happy life.

Anita would thrive in a home that appreciates her intelligence, loyalty, and loving nature, and that can offer calm guidance during new situations. She is a truly special little dog with so much devotion to give — ready to find her person and her forever home. 🐾✨

Did you know, we offer a  Foster-to-Adopt Program

You can welcome Anita into your home for a 14–21 day trial period. If it’s a match, the adoption becomes official. If not, he returns safely to foster care.

FAQ

  • Where are you located / Is there a shelter I can visit?

We are a foster-based rescue, which means we operate without a shelter or office. Every animal we help is cared for in a foster home. Most of our fosters and volunteers are located in and around San Isidro de El General, Pérez Zeledón, in the Southern Zone of Costa Rica.

  • Can I visit the animals available for adoption?

Yes! Once your application is approved, we’ll coordinate a meet-and-greet with the foster home.

  • Do you rescue wild animals too?

We focus on rescuing dogs and cats, but we can point you in the right direction if you’ve found a wild animal in distress. We recommend contacting:

Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary in Uvita at +506 2200 3271
Rescate Wildlife Rescue Center via WhatsApp at +506 6058 3898
SINAC (National System of Conservation Areas) at (+506) 2522-6500 for wildlife emergencies.

  • I found a stray dog / cat. Can you help me?

For urgent cases, please refer to our Emergency Guidelines on the CONTACT PAGE.

We are a small, volunteer-run organization with limited resources, but we do our best to help whenever possible. To report a stray animal or find more information, please visit our CONTACT PAGE.

  • I saw a dog / cat on social media up for adoption but can’t find it on the website.

    There are two possible reasons:

    1. We haven’t had time to upload the animal to the website, but it may still be available.

    2. The animal is in a foster-to-adopt trial or has already found a home. You’re still welcome to apply using our general adoption application. Then we can match you with a similar dog / cat.

  • Are you a officially registered non-profit organization?

Yes! Charlies Angels Resque is officially registered under the legal name Asociación Charlie’s Angels CR, cédula jurídica 3-002-757592.

  • How are you funded?

We rely entirely on donations from generous individuals and the occasional fundraising. Every contribution makes a big difference. For more informatiopn visit our DONATION PAGE

  • Are Donations Tax-Deductible?

Unfortunately, we can't issue tax-deductible receipts for donations made to our Costa Rican Bank Account or PayPal.

However, we’re supported by Friends of Charlie’s Angels Costa Rica, Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in the U.S. This allows U.S. donors to make tax-deductible contributions to support our rescue work in Costa Rica.
