Ziggy

Ziggy is a smallest boy from the adorable Z litter.

About Ziggy:

Short coat

Shepherd mix

He is house trained

Personality:

Ziggy is sweet and trusting.  He will lie on your lap, belly exposed, and look dreamily into your eyes.

He is very bright and curious and, for a puppy, he is very gentle. He is being fostered at a place with many dogs of all sizes, ages, and breeds, cats, ducks, chickens, and guinea fowl.

All the animals wander around together and there is no aggression towards the smaller animals from any of the Z puppies. Ziggy is a bit shy and sheltered and has only been on 4 car rides so far. He is a little anxious in the car and appreciates being held and consoled.

Then he is just fine, and we are sure he will be great in car rides with more experience. He is a happy, friendly boy who runs up to new people to greet them!

Training and habits:

Ziggy is not a greedy eater. He has not yet had much training, but with good treats he should learn basic obedience easily. He also needs more time on a lead. As it is he follows his foster dad around with the rest of his pack, and can be trusted to stay close.

Ideal home:

Ziggy would ideally have other pups to bond and play with. He would do well on a large, safe property where he can run and explore. His human (s) just need to love him and care for him, but a young, sporty and active family would be the absolute best!  He has not had much time with small children, but we think that with his gentle personality, he should adjust to child energy extremely well.

If you are interested in adopting Ziggy, please fill out our quick, non-binding adoption application.

We simply want to make sure that each puppy finds the best possible home, so it is important for us to know a few basics about the people who would like to adopt them.

Please also feel free to explore our website, where you can see Ziggy’s brothers and sisters, as well as other dogs we currently have up for adoption.

FAQ

  • Where are you located / Is there a shelter I can visit?

We are a foster-based rescue, which means we operate without a shelter or office. Every animal we help is cared for in a foster home. Most of our fosters and volunteers are located in and around San Isidro de El General, Pérez Zeledón, in the Southern Zone of Costa Rica.

  • Can I visit the animals available for adoption?

Yes! Once your application is approved, we’ll coordinate a meet-and-greet with the foster home.

    For more information visit our:
    DOG ADOPTION PAGE
    CAT ADOPTION PAGE

  • Do you rescue wild animals too?

We focus on rescuing dogs and cats, but we can point you in the right direction if you’ve found a wild animal in distress. We recommend contacting:

Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary in Uvita at +506 2200 3271
Rescate Wildlife Rescue Center via WhatsApp at +506 6058 3898
SINAC (National System of Conservation Areas) at (+506) 2522-6500 for wildlife emergencies.

To report a dog or cat in need please visit our CONTACT PAGE

  • I found a stray dog / cat. Can you help me?

For urgent cases, please refer to our Emergency Guidelines on the CONTACT PAGE.

We are a small, volunteer-run organization with limited resources, but we do our best to help whenever possible. To report a stray animal or find more information, please visit our CONTACT PAGE.

  • I saw a dog / cat on social media up for adoption but can’t find it on the website.

    There are two possible reasons:

    1. We haven’t had time to upload the animal to the website, but it may still be available.

    2. The animal is in a foster-to-adopt trial or has already found a home. You’re still welcome to apply using our general adoption application. Then we can match you with a similar dog / cat.

  • Are you a officially registered non-profit organization?

Yes! Charlies Angels Resque is officially registered under the legal name Asociación Charlie’s Angels CR, cédula jurídica 3-002-757592.

  • How are you funded?

We rely entirely on donations from generous individuals and the occasional fundraising. Every contribution makes a big difference. For more informatiopn visit our DONATION PAGE

  • Are Donations Tax-Deductible?

Unfortunately, we can't issue tax-deductible receipts for donations made to our Costa Rican Bank Account or PayPal.

However, we’re supported by Friends of Charlie’s Angels Costa Rica, Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in the U.S. This allows U.S. donors to make tax-deductible contributions to support our rescue work in Costa Rica.
