Miel (Honey)

MIEL NEEDS A HOME OF HER OWN

Beautiful Miel (Honey), walked into a family’s vacation rental in Guanacaste and gave birth to four kittens in their bathtub!

The family fell completely in love with her and did everything they could to find help before leaving Costa Rica. When no foster home could be found in Guanacaste, they had Miel and her babies transported all the way to san isidro / Perez Zeledon, where Charlie’s Angels agreed to take over the case and a foster was availabe for them.

Now the kittens are 10 weeks old. Two have already been adopted, and the other two are in the adoption process.

And now it’s Miel’s turn!!!

Miel is only around one year old, and this may have been her first litter. She has been an incredible mother—protective, gentle, patient, and so so loving.

With people she is very sweet, affectionate, and communicative. She charms everyone she meets and is wonderful with children.

She is currently not comfortable around dogs, possibly because she has been protecting her kittens and has been through a lot recently. A home without dogs would therefore be best for her.

Miel has taken such beautiful care of her babies. Now she deserves a safe home where somebody will take care of her.

Please contact Charlie’s Angels Animal Rescue Costa Rica if you would like to adopt Miel.

FAQ

  • Where are you located / Is there a shelter I can visit?

We are a foster-based rescue, which means we operate without a shelter or office. Every animal we help is cared for in a foster home. Most of our fosters and volunteers are located in and around San Isidro de El General, Pérez Zeledón, in the Southern Zone of Costa Rica.

  • Can I visit the animals available for adoption?

Yes! Once your application is approved, we’ll coordinate a meet-and-greet with the foster home.

    For more information visit our:
    DOG ADOPTION PAGE
    CAT ADOPTION PAGE

  • Do you rescue wild animals too?

We focus on rescuing dogs and cats, but we can point you in the right direction if you’ve found a wild animal in distress. We recommend contacting:

Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary in Uvita at +506 2200 3271
Rescate Wildlife Rescue Center via WhatsApp at +506 6058 3898
SINAC (National System of Conservation Areas) at (+506) 2522-6500 for wildlife emergencies.

To report a dog or cat in need please visit our CONTACT PAGE

  • I found a stray dog / cat. Can you help me?

For urgent cases, please refer to our Emergency Guidelines on the CONTACT PAGE.

We are a small, volunteer-run organization with limited resources, but we do our best to help whenever possible. To report a stray animal or find more information, please visit our CONTACT PAGE.

  • I saw a dog / cat on social media up for adoption but can’t find it on the website.

    There are two possible reasons:

    1. We haven’t had time to upload the animal to the website, but it may still be available.

    2. The animal is in a foster-to-adopt trial or has already found a home. You’re still welcome to apply using our general adoption application. Then we can match you with a similar dog / cat.

  • Are you a officially registered non-profit organization?

Yes! Charlies Angels Resque is officially registered under the legal name Asociación Charlie’s Angels CR, cédula jurídica 3-002-757592.

  • How are you funded?

We rely entirely on donations from generous individuals and the occasional fundraising. Every contribution makes a big difference. For more informatiopn visit our DONATION PAGE

  • Are Donations Tax-Deductible?

Unfortunately, we can't issue tax-deductible receipts for donations made to our Costa Rican Bank Account or PayPal.

However, we’re supported by Friends of Charlie’s Angels Costa Rica, Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in the U.S. This allows U.S. donors to make tax-deductible contributions to support our rescue work in Costa Rica.
