Today we are very happy to post about Bruno again, because this very special boy is now ready to find his forever home

Many of you will remember Bruno from a few weeks ago. He was the dog we reported about after being found with a terrible screwworm wound that had affected half of his face and neck.

Seeing him like that was so heartbreaking. He spent a few weeks at the vet clinic until he was able to move into his foster home.

Bruno has made an incredible recovery and today he looks absolutely beautiful.

What makes Bruno even more special is that, after everything he went through, he could not be a happier dog.

When I went to visit him in his foster home, Bruno came running to my car to greet me and my husband with so much joy.

It was such a beautiful moment and such a relief to see him so happy, playful, and full of life.

His foster parents have nothing but wonderful things to say about him. They describe him as playful, silly, funny, affectionate, and just a pleasure to have around.

Bruno is a young dog, around two years old, medium-sized, and incredibly well behaved in the home.

He is fully house-trained, does not jump on furniture, does not chew on things, and can be left alone for hours without getting into trouble.

He loves being outside, always stays close (foster home has no fence) but he is also perfectly content relaxing indoors with his people.

He gets along well with other dogs and also with cats.

Bruno is not a big barker, but he will let you know when somebody approaches the property. As soon as he realizes the person is friendly, he settles right away.

Bruno also has a very nice recall and is overall just a happy, easygoing boy.

We believe Bruno may have lived as a farm dog before, so he could be a wonderful match for a home with land, but he could just as easily be a beloved family dog in a more traditional home setting.

He has been through so much. Now all that is missing is a family of his own.

Did you know that we also offer a foster-to-adopt program?

That means Bruno could come stay with you first, and you would have time to get to know each other before making a final decision.

After a 3-week trial period, you can decide if it feels like the right match. And if it doesn’t, that is okay too. We will continue looking for the right home for him.

If you are interested in Bruno, please fill out our non-binding adoption application on our website.

It helps us understand your lifestyle and living situation so we can see if Bruno might be the right match for you.

FAQ

  • Where are you located / Is there a shelter I can visit?

We are a foster-based rescue, which means we operate without a shelter or office. Every animal we help is cared for in a foster home. Most of our fosters and volunteers are located in and around San Isidro de El General, Pérez Zeledón, in the Southern Zone of Costa Rica.

  • Can I visit the animals available for adoption?

Yes! Once your application is approved, we’ll coordinate a meet-and-greet with the foster home.

    For more information visit our:
    DOG ADOPTION PAGE
    CAT ADOPTION PAGE

  • Do you rescue wild animals too?

We focus on rescuing dogs and cats, but we can point you in the right direction if you’ve found a wild animal in distress. We recommend contacting:

Rescate Wildlife Rescue Center via WhatsApp at +506 6058 3898
SINAC (National System of Conservation Areas) at (+506) 2522-6500 for wildlife emergencies.

To report a dog or cat in need please visit our CONTACT PAGE

  • I found a stray dog / cat. Can you help me?

For urgent cases, please refer to our Emergency Guidelines on the CONTACT PAGE.

We are a small, volunteer-run organization with limited resources, but we do our best to help whenever possible. To report a stray animal or find more information, please visit our CONTACT PAGE.

  • I saw a dog / cat on social media up for adoption but can’t find it on the website.

    There are two possible reasons:

    1. We haven’t had time to upload the animal to the website, but it may still be available.

    2. The animal is in a foster-to-adopt trial or has already found a home. You’re still welcome to apply using our general adoption application. Then we can match you with a similar dog / cat.

  • Are you a officially registered non-profit organization?

Yes! Charlies Angels Resque is officially registered under the legal name Asociación Charlie’s Angels CR, cédula jurídica 3-002-757592.

  • How are you funded?

We rely entirely on donations from generous individuals and the occasional fundraising. Every contribution makes a big difference. For more informatiopn visit our DONATION PAGE

  • Are Donations Tax-Deductible?

Unfortunately, we can't issue tax-deductible receipts for donations made to our Costa Rican Bank Account or PayPal.

However, we’re supported by Friends of Charlie’s Angels Costa Rica, Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in the U.S. This allows U.S. donors to make tax-deductible contributions to support our rescue work in Costa Rica.
