These uncontrolled numbers lead to overcrowded shelters, suffering, and countless homeless animals. Spaying and neutering is the most effective and compassionate way to break this cycle.

Since 2014, our monthly spay and neuter clinics have been a cornerstone of our rescue work.
They play a crucial role in controlling pet overpopulation and improving the overall well-being of animals in our communities.
These clinics also serve as an opportunity to engage with and educate local families about responsible pet care.
Our monthly pop-up clinics take place in a variety of rural villages in the Pérez Zeledón region, where many pet owners are low-income families with multiple animals. They often cannot afford medical care or transport for their animals.
We have been working successfully for years with a trusted professional veterinary team who performs the surgeries in a fully equipped ambulance.
With the support of our experienced team of volunteers, we are able to undertake up to 60 operations per clinic.

In the past 11 years, we’ve helped prevent around 200,000 puppies and kittens from being born.
We’re proud to play a big part in reducing the suffering of unwanted animals in our area.
