Sir Charlies
a gentleman of a dog
Sir Charlies
Meet Sir Charles — Charlie for short.
Charlie is about 1.5 years old, neutered, and weighs 13kg / 29 lbs.
He is a lovely medium-small size, easy to handle, and just a very gentle soul.
Charlie is one of those dogs who quietly breaks your heart a little, because he did nothing wrong, and yet his human failed him 🥺
His owner left the country. As far as we know, not enough effort was made to find Charlie a safe new home before leaving.
Shortly before departure, there was even talk of taking Charlie and abandoning him on the Cerro de la Muerte on his way to the airport… something we thankfully prevented because one of our team members stepped in, picked him up, and brought him to safety.🙏🏼
And still, Charlie loved his person… 💔After his owner left, this sweet boy fell into a deep sadness. He was confused, heartbroken, and withdrawn. Dogs understand more than many people want to believe. They feel loss. They feel abandonment. They grieve...But Charlie is now slowly coming back to himself...
He has been vet-checked, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas and ticks, and he is back on track with everything. And what a wonderful dog he is. His foster is talking very highly about him!He is sweet, obedient, quiet, and easy to have around. He gets along well with other dogs and is friendly when meeting dogs on the street. He is also good with cats, chickens, and children.
Charlie walks beautifully on leash and is very easy to walk. He can also be trusted off leash in the right environment once he knows his person and feels safe.Charlie is not a complicated dog. He is not wild, loud, or demanding. He is simply a good boy who lost his home and now deserves someone who will never give up on him again.
We are looking for a loving, responsible home for Charlie — a home that understands loyalty, kindness, and commitment. If you would like to adopt Sir Charles, please send us a message or fill out our adoption application.

FAQ
Where are you located / Is there a shelter I can visit?
We are a foster-based rescue, which means we operate without a shelter or office. Every animal we help is cared for in a foster home. Most of our fosters and volunteers are located in and around San Isidro de El General, Pérez Zeledón, in the Southern Zone of Costa Rica.
Can I visit the animals available for adoption?
Yes! Once your application is approved, we’ll coordinate a meet-and-greet with the foster home.

2. The animal is in a foster-to-adopt trial or has already found a home. You’re still welcome to apply using our general adoption application. Then we can match you with a similar dog / cat.Are you a officially registered non-profit organization?
Yes! Charlies Angels Resque is officially registered under the legal name Asociación Charlie’s Angels CR, cédula jurídica 3-002-757592.
How are you funded?

Are Donations Tax-Deductible?
Unfortunately, we can't issue tax-deductible receipts for donations made to our Costa Rican Bank Account or PayPal.
However, we’re supported by Friends of Charlie’s Angels Costa Rica, Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in the U.S. This allows U.S. donors to make tax-deductible contributions to support our rescue work in Costa Rica.
