Zelda
Meet Zelda
Zelda is 4 months old and part of the Z-litter. She is the only one of the siblings with more classic shepherd markings. Like the rest of her siblings, she is smart, curious, fun loving, sweet, and loving.

About 8 kg (18 lbs)
adult weight: 16-18 kg (between 35-40 lbs.)

Personality / Social behavior:
Great with dogs of all ages, breeds, and sizes, very trusting and friendly with humans
She lives on a large property with lots of animals, so could use a bit more socialization with humans. The Z litter are very calm, trusting and fun loving, so we think Zelda will be excellent with children.
Training and habits:
Zelda needs more focused work on basic obedience and commands. She is very responsive and comes when called. She needs more time on a leash. All these things are currently being worked on and she is very intelligent, so she will pick up good habits quickly with treats, kindness and consistency. She is calm in the car, and will be an excellent passenger with more fun trips! She is food motivated! Zelda is house trained!
Ideal home:
A large, safe property for exercise and exploration would be best. Other animals of all kinds would be fine since she has been raised with dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, and guinea hens! A loving human or humans who will care for her, and include her on hikes, beach time, and other wonderful adventures would be amazing for her!
If you are interested in adopting Zelda, please fill out our quick, non-binding adoption application.
We simply want to make sure that each puppy finds the best possible home, so it is important for us to know a few basics about the people who would like to adopt them.
Please also feel free to explore our website, where you can see Zazu’s brothers and sisters, as well as other dogs we currently have up for adoption.

FAQ
Where are you located / Is there a shelter I can visit?
We are a foster-based rescue, which means we operate without a shelter or office. Every animal we help is cared for in a foster home. Most of our fosters and volunteers are located in and around San Isidro de El General, Pérez Zeledón, in the Southern Zone of Costa Rica.
Can I visit the animals available for adoption?
Yes! Once your application is approved, we’ll coordinate a meet-and-greet with the foster home.
