Zen and his siblings were found abandoned in a box next to a plastic bag on the side of the road — but despite such a rough start, these puppies are thriving: healthy, playful, and full of love!
Zen is by far the most chill of the bunch. He’s laid-back, calm, and totally lives up to his name.
While the others bounce around like little popcorn, Zen is the one striking poses during photo shoots — and yes, he proudly holds the title of Best Picture Pup 📸✨
With his short legs and sleek black coat, Zen looks like a Dachshund–Mini Pinscher mix and will likely stay on the small side — around 6–7 kg (13–15 lbs) fully grown.
Zen is looking for a home where he can keep living his best, easygoing life. If you’re dreaming of a sweet, mellow companion who also knows how to work the camera, Zen is your guy.

Where are you located / Is there a shelter I can visit?
We are a foster-based rescue, which means we operate without a shelter or office. Every animal we help is cared for in a foster home. Most of our fosters and volunteers are located in and around San Isidro de El General, Pérez Zeledón, in the Southern Zone of Costa Rica.
Can I visit the animals available for adoption?
Yes! Once your application is approved, we’ll coordinate a meet-and-greet with the foster home.

We are a small, volunteer-run organization with limited resources, but we do our best to help whenever possible. To report a stray animal or find more information, please visit our CONTACT PAGE.I saw a dog / cat on social media up for adoption but can’t find it on the website.
There are two possible reasons:
1. We haven’t had time to upload the animal to the website, but it may still be available.
2. The animal is in a foster-to-adopt trial or has already found a home. You’re still welcome to apply using our general adoption application. Then we can match you with a similar dog / cat.Are you a officially registered non-profit organization?

Are Donations Tax-Deductible?
Unfortunately, we can't issue tax-deductible receipts for donations made to our Costa Rican Bank Account or PayPal.
However, we’re supported by Friends of Charlie’s Angels Costa Rica, Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in the U.S. This allows U.S. donors to make tax-deductible contributions to support our rescue work in Costa Rica.
