Toby & Freedom
Freedom & Toby – Bonded Pair!
Freedom is the reason Toby was willing to be rescued. When Shauna, a private rescuer we collaborate with, went to catch him and his mom after they had been abandoned and mistreated, she brought Freedom along — and having her there gave Toby the courage to trust her.
Once Toby moved in with Shauna and her many rescue dogs, he slowly warmed up to humans. But he and Freedom became instant best friends, and it’s essential they stay together. Freedom is Toby’s emotional support; even though he loves his foster family, new people still make him nervous, and he relies on Freedom for comfort.
After a year at Shauna’s home, it’s finally time for Toby to find his forever family. Sadly, despite many posts and being listed on our website, nobody has enquired about him. Shauna has now also decided to find a forever home for Freedom — who is also a rescue — so they can stay together.
Toby has a gentle soul. After so much suffering, he’s now a sweet, snuggly little dog. He and Freedom do everything together — playing, napping, exploring the river, or running along every rock and tree. Toby is always by Freedom’s side.
They rely on each other for more than play — they love adventures, walks, car rides, and even errands to the local grocery. They’re well-behaved, don’t chew anything except their toys, and love cuddles every morning.
Ideal Home:
A large, fully fenced yard and an active family who can give them walks, hikes, and beach outings. They thrive with each other’s company and need an active, loving home.
Details:
•  Both fully house-trained
•  Spayed / neutered
•  Vaccinated and dewormed
•  Freedom – female, 2.5 years old
•  Toby – male, 1.5 years old
•  Walks perfectly on leash
•  Great with dogs, cats, and kids
•  Affectionate, playful, and adventurous
Important:
Freedom and Toby are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. They need each other to feel safe and happy, so we aren’t able to place just one.

FAQ
Where are you located / Is there a shelter I can visit?
We are a foster-based rescue, which means we operate without a shelter or office. Every animal we help is cared for in a foster home. Most of our fosters and volunteers are located in and around San Isidro de El General, Pérez Zeledón, in the Southern Zone of Costa Rica.
Can I visit the animals available for adoption?
Yes! Once your application is approved, we’ll coordinate a meet-and-greet with the foster home.

Are Donations Tax-Deductible?
Unfortunately, we can't issue tax-deductible receipts for donations made to our Costa Rican Bank Account or PayPal.
However, we’re supported by Friends of Charlie’s Angels Costa Rica, Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in the U.S. This allows U.S. donors to make tax-deductible contributions to support our rescue work in Costa Rica.
