Meet Lou – a one-year-old fluff ball full of love who is ready for a new start!
Lou got to us after going through a tough time: his owners got divorced and couldn't keep him anymore. Since the woman who reported him to us was able to foster him, we got on board with the situation. We got Lou vaccinated and neutered. He is ready to bring joy to a new family.
He is house-trained, does not shed, gets along well with children, and is incredibly sweet to other dogs. His best friend is currently a cat—yes, a cat!—in his foster family, and the two play together all day long.
He loves walks, likes people, and just wants to be part of someone's life again.
If you are looking for a gentle, cheerful dog that would fit well into a home with cats, children, or other dogs, Lou could be just right for you.

Where are you located / Is there a shelter I can visit?
We are a foster-based rescue, which means we operate without a shelter or office. Every animal we help is cared for in a foster home. Most of our fosters and volunteers are located in and around San Isidro de El General, Pérez Zeledón, in the Southern Zone of Costa Rica.
Can I visit the animals available for adoption?
Yes! Once your application is approved, we’ll coordinate a meet-and-greet with the foster home.

We are a small, volunteer-run organization with limited resources, but we do our best to help whenever possible. To report a stray animal or find more information, please visit our CONTACT PAGE.I saw a dog / cat on social media up for adoption but can’t find it on the website.
There are two possible reasons:
1. We haven’t had time to upload the animal to the website, but it may still be available.
2. The animal is in a foster-to-adopt trial or has already found a home. You’re still welcome to apply using our general adoption application. Then we can match you with a similar dog / cat.Are you a officially registered non-profit organization?

Are Donations Tax-Deductible?
Unfortunately, we can't issue tax-deductible receipts for donations made to our Costa Rican Bank Account or PayPal.
However, we’re supported by Friends of Charlie’s Angels Costa Rica, Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in the U.S. This allows U.S. donors to make tax-deductible contributions to support our rescue work in Costa Rica.
