🐾 FINLEY (FORMERLY JIMMY) IS LOOKING FOR A NEW HOME 🐾

Finley, who many of you knew as Jimmy, was adopted in January 2024. Now, due to an international move, his adopters have made the difficult decision to return him to our care.

At the time of adoption, we had an open conversation about the possibility of relocation, and we were reassured he would remain part of their family if they had to move back to Canada… Yes, we are dissapointed and sad…, but our priority now — as always — is finding the right family where Finley will feel at home…

In case you don’t remember his journey…

We rescued Jimmy in November 2023. He was one of the most heartbreaking cases we've seen — severely starved and weighing just 7 kilos (15 lbs). But under the loving care of his foster mum SamiTe, everything changed. With vet care, home-cooked meals, quiet time, and gentle love, Jimmy blossomed.

He doubled his weight to a healthy 15 kg at the time of adoption (he is a bit overweight now). Though he has a slight limp — likely from an old injury — it doesn’t slow him down or dampen his spirit.

So, who is Finley today?

Finley is a wonderful dog… a smart, calm and affectionate boy. He loves his morning walks and gets excited when asked if he’s ready to go. He enjoys an afternoon play session in the yard with his previous housemate dogs and then relaxes quietly near his people.

He’s good with cats and used to play with the family’s cat regularly. He hasn’t spent a lot of time around children, but he’s never shown any reaction to the ones who visited the home.

He’s not a high-energy dog — he prefers staying close to his humans and is happy to nap beside you while you work or read. He’s crate trained, and happily trots into his crate to sleep at night.

Finley is super well baheved indoors, doesn’t get on the couch or the bed, but when it’s time to sit outside, he loves joining his person on a big chair for some quiet companionship.

Finley thrives in calm environments. He’s social with other friendly dogs but doesn’t enjoy noisy street walks — which makes a home with a fenced yard and a gentle playmate the perfect setup for him.

After everything he’s been through, this sweet boy deserves stability and love. If you think you can offer that, we’d love to hear from you.

FAQ

  • Where are you located / Is there a shelter I can visit?

We are a foster-based rescue, which means we operate without a shelter or office. Every animal we help is cared for in a foster home. Most of our fosters and volunteers are located in and around San Isidro de El General, Pérez Zeledón, in the Southern Zone of Costa Rica.

  • Can I visit the animals available for adoption?

Yes! Once your application is approved, we’ll coordinate a meet-and-greet with the foster home.

    For more information visit our:

  • Do you rescue wild animals too?

We focus on rescuing dogs and cats, but we can point you in the right direction if you’ve found a wild animal in distress. We recommend contacting:

Rescate Wildlife Rescue Center via WhatsApp at +506 6058 3898

  • I found a stray dog / cat. Can you help me?

For urgent cases, please refer to our Emergency Guidelines on the CONTACT PAGE.

We are a small, volunteer-run organization with limited resources, but we do our best to help whenever possible. To report a stray animal or find more information, please visit our CONTACT PAGE.

  • I saw a dog / cat on social media up for adoption but can’t find it on the website.

    There are two possible reasons:

    1. We haven’t had time to upload the animal to the website, but it may still be available.

    2. The animal is in a foster-to-adopt trial or has already found a home. You’re still welcome to apply using our general adoption application. Then we can match you with a similar dog / cat.

  • Are you a officially registered non-profit organization?

Yes! Charlies Angels Resque is officially registered under the legal name Asociación Charlie’s Angels CR, cédula jurídica 3-002-757592.

  • How are you funded?

We rely entirely on donations from generous individuals and the occasional fundraising. Every contribution makes a big difference. For more informatiopn visit our DONATION PAGE

  • Are Donations Tax-Deductible?

Unfortunately, we can't issue tax-deductible receipts for donations made to our Costa Rican Bank Account or PayPal.

However, we’re supported by Friends of Charlie’s Angels Costa Rica, Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in the U.S. This allows U.S. donors to make tax-deductible contributions to support our rescue work in Costa Rica.
