Rocky
He May Not Hear, But He Understands Love Perfectly
Rocky
Meet Rocky - our little survivor!
If you’ve ever thought about adopting a differently-abled dog, Rocky is full of love, personality, and potential.Rocky was born in February 2025. His mother was rescued while pregnant, and sadly, all of her puppies passed away — except for Rocky.
He was the only one who made it.The woman who rescued Rocky and his mom reached out to us for help, because she didn't know how to find him a loving home. We took him in, and quickly noticed something unusual — Rocky didn’t respond to our voices or even the silliest sounds we made.
That’s when we realized: Rocky is deaf, likely since birth. But don’t let that fool you....Rocky is really a special pup! He has absolutely flourished in his foster home 💕When he first arrived, he was unfocused and full of scattered puppy energy. But now, he’s blossomed into a sweet, affectionate, and attentive young dog. He’s playful with other dogs, loves people, and is completely focused on his human.
Rocky is also crate-trained, house-trained, and has already learned some basic sign language. His foster mom is head over heels in love with him and would adopt him in a heartbeat, but frequent international work travel makes it impossible for her to give Rocky the consistent, stable home he needs.Rocky is a non-shedding dog and could be a great fit for someone with allergies.
When fully grown, he’ll likely weigh around 10 kg (about 20 lbs).Rocky is currently in Rivas, Pérez Zeledón, Costa Rica — but we transport him aynwhere... in fact: we can fly him to Florida on August 13th if the right home is waiting for him!
Could you be the one he’s been waiting for?

FAQ
Where are you located / Is there a shelter I can visit?
We are a foster-based rescue, which means we operate without a shelter or office. Every animal we help is cared for in a foster home. Most of our fosters and volunteers are located in and around San Isidro de El General, Pérez Zeledón, in the Southern Zone of Costa Rica.
Can I visit the animals available for adoption?
Yes! Once your application is approved, we’ll coordinate a meet-and-greet with the foster home.

Unfortunately, we can't issue tax-deductible receipts for donations made to our Costa Rican Bank Account or PayPal.
However, we’re supported by Friends of Charlie’s Angels Costa Rica, Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in the U.S. This allows U.S. donors to make tax-deductible contributions to support our rescue work in Costa Rica.
