Romi came to us after being hit by a car and left on the side of the road.
Her hind leg was badly injured and the x-rays of the fracture were devastating. The people who reported her to us must have known who her owners were, because communication with them was very odd, but unfortunately the owners never got in touch to see how Romi was doing....
We immediately made arrangements for Romi to be taken to the veterinary hospital in Uvita, where she underwent surgery at the beginning of October.
After the operation, she was fostered in a loving home, where Romi has been living with 4 dogs, cats, rabbits and chickens ever since.
Her recovery took a very long time. She had to wear a tight bandage for 2 months and had several follow-up visits to the vet. The first weeks she had to spend most of the day in her crate and was only allowed out when she had to go potty.
It must have been hard for the young pup, who would have loved to play with the other animals in the foster home.
Now the bandage is FINALLY off and Romi runs and plays like a little whirlwind and keeps everyone entertained!
Romi still limps from time to time and can't quite bend her leg, but that doesn't stop her from going for it! She is back on track and is so incredibly happy about it that she shows it in every way possible!
She is in a foster home near San Isidro / Perez Zeledon, but we can help with the logistics of getting her to you.
