Let us introduce you to Marylou. She was abandoned in Cerro de la Muerte, way up in the highest mountains of Costa Rica.

She showed up at a restaurant severely malnourished after she must have had a litter of puppies.

Marylou only survived because she was given leftover food by the people in the restaurant.  When our veterinarian passed by the restaurant and saw this sad girl, she couldn't help it and brought her to San Isidro, where she nursed her back to health in her veterinary clinic. After Marylou gained some weight, she was vaccinated and spayed.

From day one, Marylou has simply been a joy to have around. She is friendly to everyone she meets and absolutely affectionate.

She is so grateful to have been given a safe and loving place to live, a warm and dry dog bed to sleep in, and regular meals that she always stays close to you and looks at you with eyes full of gratitude.

Mary is a really kind dog and would fit into any household. She gets along well with other dogs and cats and we think she would do well with children too.

She has a beautiful short coat and a great size.  She is playful but has a very gentle, warm and calm disposition. A perfect dog for people looking for a mature and docile dog that is not too big.  We are sure Mary would make a great family dog, but also an ideal pet for a couple or a great companion for a single person.

She currently lives in the house of our vet in San Isidro / General.

If Marylou is the right girl for you, please fill out our adoption application online and we will contact you to schedule a time to meet.
