Marty is a young dog who showed up completely emaciated and neglected in the home of a senior expat..   The dog-friendly Canadian took Marty in and nursed him back to health.

He also reached out to our organisation, and together we coordinated Marty's neutering and vaccination to make him ready for adoption.

Marty turned into a healthy and strong boy.  He gets along well with other dogs. With people, Marty can be shy and is wary of strangers.

His bark is very impressive, so he would be an ideal guard dog for a fully fenced property.

When Marty goes for walks, he needs to be on a leash.  Being on leash, he doesn’t pull and is obedient and friendly when he meets people.

Also indoors Marty behaves very well, he is non-destructive and 100% housebroken.  He loves to sleep in his dog bed and enjoys his daily massage he receives from his nice foster dad who has also taught Marty a few tricks and how to play fetch, which he really enjoys!

The perfect home for Marty would be with a fenced in yard with active people who have experience with dogs and are willing to work with him. Marty is a diamond in the rough that has yet to be shaped. He has learned "sit" in just a few hours and we are sure he would respond very well to obedience training.

Marty loves to go on hikes and cool off in the small creek behind his foster home.

If Marty sound like the dog you were waiting for, please contact us!

He is in a foster home in Rivas / Perez Zeledon, but we can help with the logistics of getting him to you.
